Renton, WA (PRWEB) August 18, 2011

From Steven Tyler, to Lady Gaga, to your super trendy neighbor, everyone has feathers. And those who don’t have them, want them.

Now Stylists can learn to work with the hottest accessory of the season in this exclusive feathering workshop with Air Feathers founder, Airie McCready.

McCready’s company, Air Hair Systems, started in April of 2011 and rapidly took off. Her idea? To put a feather hair extension on the market that was affordable for stylists and their guests, high quality, cruelty free and no kill.

“I can’t believe how fast this has grown,” says McCready. “In four months I’ve gone national with major distributors, and it just keeps going.”

McCready, a highly trained colorist, long time fiber artist, and master hair extension artist has combined her talents with art, hair and business to bring a unique company to the hair industry. Staying Eco-Chic, she believes that though we have a choice in what we wear on our bodies, if it belongs to another living creature, it should not do harm.

Many Stylists can barely keep up with the demand for these trendy extensions, and the cost is skyrocketing. But where are all these feathers coming from.? McCready decided to find out.

After she found out “The Truth About Feathers,” McCready was determined to let her clients know where they came from.

“Many Saddle Hackle Feather,” says McCready, “come on a pelt-a piece of skin. That means that the bird lost it’s life for the feathers.”

McCready’s special feathers, called Fairie Feathers, for their natural dream-like feel and movement, are the only feathers of their kind that come from pampered pets that are groomed, NOT killed. These birds are stroked daily by their keepers to remove molting feathers. Once removed, feathers are then sterilized and expedited to Air Feathers where each feather is hand dyed and packaged. What kind of bird are they? McCready is not telling, but says they are not roosters, hens, or pheasants, and the mystery is more fun.

Air Feathers works only with no-kill farms at present for the Fairie Feathers, and for every Fairie Feather product sale, Air Feathers will donate $ 1 to the Reeve Foundation.

Salon Services is proud to have teamed with Air Feathers to offer stylists a class in advanced application with cruelty-free, no kill Fairie Feathers on September 12, 2011 at their Renton, Washington education facility. For more information on the class, visit: Salon Services Education Calendar.

If you are not in the Salon Services area, you can find out where to get your feathers by going to the website, http://www.airhairextensions.com and using the website to find your distributor.
