The Harley Medical Group reveals the British profession most likely to have cosmetic treatments
(PRWEB UK) 7 October 2011
British celebrities with various professions, including chef Gordon Ramsay, TV presenter Kay Burley and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, all openly admit to having cosmetic treatments.
Inspired to reveal the professionals most likely to have treatments, The Harley Medical Group has found that it is actually those in the military who are most likely to have cosmetic treatments.
The Group conducted a survey across its 31 clinics in the UK and Ireland which revealed the military made up over 8% of bookings in the last six months, with patients choosing non-surgical treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers and surgeries such as otoplasty and gynaecomastia.
Top Five Professions Most Likely to Have Cosmetic Surgery
1. Military
2. Teachers
3. Policeman
4. City Workers
5. Hairdressers & Beauticians
Says Lisa Littlehales, Lead Nurse Counsellor at The Harley Medical Group: “Often patients who are in very active professions such as the military, opt for treatments as they feel they begin to look older than they feel, as their faces age more obviously than their bodies. Patients in the military profession also comment that playful banter in the mess encourages them to look into surgical options.
“Active celebrities such as Maria Sharapova, Mike Tindall, Jermain Jenas and Shane Warne, have all had cosmetic treatments. This type of patient is a great candidate for surgery, as they take regular exercise, generally eat healthily, don’t drink to excess or smoke and are in excellent health.”
The Harley Medical Group Patient and Army Corporal Danielle Hagget, 23, comments on her reasons behind having otoplasty: “I always hated my ears but after joining the army I began to notice them more, as I always have to wear my hair up, drawing even more attention to my ears. Being in a male oriented environment, there is often playful banter within my unit, although this is always a bit of fun, it also gave me the push I needed to go ahead with surgery and I decided to take the opportunity to save for my procedure while I was in Afghanistan. My surgery has given me a massive confidence boost, which has really helped my career – it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.”

Harley Medical Group Sees Rise in Laser Hair Removal Treatment
Harley Medical Group Sees Rise in Laser Hair Removal Treatment
(PRWEB) September 10, 2009
The Harley Medical Group has seen an increase of 22% year on year in people pre-summer grooming themselves. Laser hair removal has proven to be the most popular of all The Harley Medical Group non-surgical procedures across its 26 UK clinics.
Laser hair removal usually requires six to eight courses of laser treatments. The most common areas in women are the face, neck, bikini line, underarms and legs. The most common areas in men are the face, neck, back and chest. The treatment can even be performed in a lunch break for busy businessmen.
Lisa Littlehales, clinic manager for The Harley Medical Group, said: “Laser hair removal (http://www.harleymedical.co.uk/non-surgical-solutions/laser-hair-removal/ ) has become increasingly popular in recent years and is a perfect long term solution for time-limited men and women wanting a low maintenance option. The main benefit behind laser hair removal is that you won’t need to worry about regrowth and unhygienic ingrown hairs. This can be extremely embarrassing and uncomfortable and can also turn itchy and red if shaved or waxed.”
Laser hair removal is proven to give permanent hair reduction and a course of treatments can remove all hair permanently. The procedure is available for both genders and can help with unwanted hair on almost any part of the body.

The Harley Medical Group Reports Laser Hair Removal Boom
London, UK (PRWEB) December 12, 2008
The Harley Medical Group – the UK’s largest cosmetic surgery provider – is reporting an all-time high in Laser Hair Removal bookings, as patients look to take the hassle out of Christmas. The stress of juggling work, family commitments and Christmas shopping has led to a boom in the procedure with bookings up by 25% throughout November.
Jennifer O’Callaghan, a Laser Hair Removal (http://www.harleymedical.co.uk/non-surgical-solutions/laser-hair-removal/ ) patient, said: “I’ve just had Laser Hair Removal for the first time after a colleague recommended I give it a try. With three children, a full-time job and Christmas coming up, I simply don’t get the leisure time to sit in the bath and groom myself. Since having the treatment I’ve been able to throw out my razors, epilator and hair removal creams – it’s fantastic”
Laser Hair Removal (http://www.harleymedical.co.uk/non-surgical-solutions/laser-hair-removal/?document_id=160 ) can treat almost all parts of the body including the face, bikini-line, under arms, legs, nipples and tummy-line. It’s quick and gentle but can remove all unwanted hair (http://www.harleymedical.co.uk/non-surgical-solutions/laser-hair-removal/?document_id=161 ) permanently.
Liz Dale, Director of The Harley Medical Group, commented: “Laser Hair Removal is our most popular non-surgical procedure amongst women. Every year, in the run up to Christmas, we have a rush of people into our clinics wanting to look their absolute best. Non-surgical treatments offer affordable and accessible solutions to take the stress out of your beauty regime and giving you one less thing to worry about this festive season.”

Harley Medical Group Reports Laser Hair Removal on the Up This Summer
Harley Medical Group Reports Laser Hair Removal on the Up This Summer
London, UK (PRWEB) August 7, 2010
With the recent bursts of scorching weather, The Harley Medical Group has seen an 23% increase in people grooming themselves ready to hit the beaches at home and abroad this summer.
Laser Hair Removal (http://www.harleymedical.co.uk/non-surgical-solutions/laser-hair-removal/), is the most popular summer-time non-surgical procedure with men and women across The Harley Medical Group’s 30 UK clinics.
Liz Dale, Director at Harley Medical Group, commented: “People of all ages opt for laser hair removal because it’s such an effective and convenient treatment. It’s particularly popular with women and men in their late twenties through to their forties, as they have more disposable cash to invest in themselves. The most popular areas for the treatment are London, Brighton and Leeds.
“While we do see a spike in treatment bookings between February and August, as people get ready for the beach, it’s our most popular non-surgical treatment so we have high demand all year round. This summer’s sunny warm weather has caused this increase in enquiry as more patients are having the opportunity to wear swimwear and skimpy summer clothing.”
The Harley Medical Group uses the Alexandrite (Class 4) laser designed to work on lighter skin, the YAG laser for darker skin and the Isolaz which can be used on all types of skin. All lasers penetrate deep into the dermis and as the heat builds up the hair follicles are disabled in the active growth phase, enabling effective hair removal.
An invisible laser beam zaps the hair follicle by seeking out the dark pigmentation in the hair then directing the laser beam at its root to destroy it. It’s proven to give permanent hair reduction. You’ll need a course of treatments to remove all hair permanently though because the laser can only kill active growing hairs. The actual session will only take around twenty minutes but for permanent hair removal you’ll need to have 6-8 sessions.
Almost anywhere on the body can be treated – the face, neck, bikini line, underarms, nipples, tummy line, arms, legs, ears, back and chest. The treatment is virtually pain free and while some people feel a little discomfort during the treatment, does not last long.
